15th September, the birth anniversary of India's pioneer engineer-administrator and the esteemed alumnus of COEP Tech, Bharat Ratna Sir. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya is observed as the “National Engineers Day” every year. To commemorate this auspicious occasion, the Alumni Association of COEP Technological University in association with COEP Technological University had organized the Engineer’s Day programme on Monday 19th September 2022 at 11.00 am in the Main Auditorium.
Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, His Excellency Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyariji graced the occasion as ‘Chief Guest’ of the function.
On this occasion, following distinguished alumni of COEP Tech were conferred upon the prestigious ‘COEP Abhimaan’ Award for outstanding contribution in their respective fields at the hands of Hon’ble Governor. This was the 30th consecutive year of the Award function and the awardees for this year are:
- Gaur Gopal Das (Electrical, 1995) - A monk, storyteller, life coach, author, filmmaker, with 500 million views on social media.
- Mr. Jagdish Kadam (Civil, 1986) - Founding Chairman and Director, Raj Path Infracon Pvt. Ltd., Pune
- Mr. Satish Khandare, IPS (Instrumentation, 1992) - Additional Director General of Police, Head of Police, Union Territory of Ladakh.
- Mr. Vinayak Pai (Electrical, 1987) – Md & CEO Tata Projects Ltd
- Mr. Vilas Tawde (Instrumentation, 1984) – Ex-MD & CEO, Essar Oil & Gas.
