Team Velociracers crowned Champions at SAENIS Efficycle 2017

TEAM VELOCIRACERS of College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) achieved grand success at EFFICYCLE 2017 competition held during 1st – 5 th November 2017, and organized by SAENIS and hosted by Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar. The competition promotes engineering students to design and fabricate their own hybrid trike. It witnessed a great footfall this year, with over 100 odd teams participating from all over the nation. Beating these teams, Team Velociracers bagged overall First position in the competition along with four other awards in various categories. ‘Vulcan 4.0’, the team’s best engineered design till date was eye catching not only for the judges and industrialist, but also for the fellow participants from other institutes.

Following are the details of the prizes won by the team:

  1. Overall : 1st
  2. Award for Marketing Presentation - 1st Prize
  3. Award for CAD/CAE - 1st Prize
  4. Award for Durability – 2nd Prize
  5. Award for Drive Excellence - 2nd Prize

A total of Rs. 1,65,000 (One Lakh Sixty five Thousand) is won by the team.

The team worked under able guidance of Dr. P. R. Dhamangaonkar (Faculty Advisor). The team would also like to thank Dr. B. B. Ahuja (Director, COEP), Dr. B. N. Chaudhari (Deputy Director, COEP), Dr. S. L. Patil (Dean, Student Affairs), Dr. C. M. Sewatkar (HoD, Mechanical Engineering), Dr. S. N. Sapali (Mentor, Mechanical Engineering) and Dr. Rajiv B. (HoD, Production Engineering & Industrial Mangement) for their constant support throughout the season
