Team Velociracers of College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) achieved grand success at EFFICYCLE 2016 competition held during 12th- 16th October 2016, and organized by SAENIS and hosted by Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar. The competition promotes engineering students to design and fabricate their own hybrid tricycle. It witnessed a great footfall this year, with 105 odd teams participating from all over the nation. Beating these teams, Team Velociracers bagged overall second position in the competition along with six other awards in various categories. ‘Vulcan 3.0’, the team’s best aesthetic design creation till date was eye catching not only for the judges and industrialist, but also for the fellow participants from other institutes.

Award for Marketing Presentation - 1st Prize
Award for Utility - 2nd Prize
Award for Gradient -2nd Prize
Award for being the “First Team” to clear technical inspection
Dronacharya Award for the best faculty advisor to Dr. P. R. Dhamangaonkar
A total of Rs. 1,50,000 (One Lakh Fifty Thousand) is won by the team.
The team worked under able guidance of Dr. P. R. Dhamangaonkar (Faculty Advisor). The team would also like to thank Dr. B. B. Ahuja (Director, COEP), Dr. B. N. Chaudhari (Deputy Director, COEP), Dr. S. L. Patil (Dean, Student Affairs), Dr. S. N. Sapali (HoD, Mechanical Engineering) and Dr. Rajiv B. (HoD, Production Engineering & Industrial Mangement) for their constant support throughout the season.
The team Captain, Sanket Munde and Vice-captain Aniket Chavan did an excellent job of bringing about the esprit de corps among the team members. The team functioned with the continuous support of Yuwraj Bajaj, Suyog Kulkarni, Amol Waddamwar, Vinit Sunkarwar, Anand Tarakh and Raj Vasave, the seniors and mentors of the team. The trike was capably handled by the drivers, Harshavardhan Patil and Nitin Darade.
