I Lead India

“Be the change you want to see in the world”, is a phrase which concisely summarizes the views of the ‘I lead India’ youth brigade. I Lead India is an initiative by the Times of India, in 27 cities, which encourages the youth of India to stand up and make India the country we know it has the potential to be.

Pooja Kulkarni, one of our very own CoEP students, has been selected as a member of the prestigious Pune Youth Brigade. Previously, she has volunteered for Akansha, and worked for the Baner check up drives. She went through various rounds of group discussions, intense panel interviews, and public voting, to finally make it onto the 5 member team. Along with her team members, she has been assigned the task of making Jungli Maharaj Road and Fergusson College Road pedestrian and commuter friendly.

So far, the brigade has held multiple events, an awareness drive, and a cleanliness drive, on FC and JM road. There has been a considerable decrease in the amount of traffic signal defaulters since the first event. The youth brigade thus offers refreshing and efficient solutions to the country’s problems.
