Credit Suisse Women’s Excellency Award

Credit Suisse recently held a great contest for all the female students of College of Engineering, Pune. The ‘Women’s Excellency Award’, held in October 2014, sought to reward female engineers who were doing well, both academically and otherwise, and inspire them to achieve higher levels of success. The winner was promised a sum of Rs. 50,000 towards their education.

The contest was held in two rounds, the first being a written application round. The best 11 applicants were short listed for the second round, which was an interview round. The finalists were invited to the Credit Suisse office in Hinjewadi, where the interviews were held. One by one, each finalist spoke to a panel of judges, about her academics, extra curricular achievements, and goals.

Based on the written application and the thorough interviews, the judges were able to accurately gauge the personality of the participants. They described the winner as someone to whom the adjectives ‘Proactive’ and ‘Principled’ among others, would apply. After taking some time for deliberation, a short award ceremony was held, where the winner was announced as Pallavi Patil from Computer Engineering branch. The experience at Credit Suisse was enlightening for all the participants. It gave them a glimpse of the corporate world, and a chance to network with employees of Credit Suisse.
