The department provides an impressive range of research and much of it is nationally acclaimed. In the production department a broad range of research activities are supported by excellent experimental and computational facilities. Key research areas include: Reliability Engineering Trilogy, Manufacturing and Automation, Micro-Machining, Ergonomics and Bio-dynamics, Analysis for design and manufacturing and Layout optimization and simulation.
The departmental faculty undergoes a number of programmes, refresher courses and workshops. The faculty also participates in various seminars and conferences by publishing research papers and abstracts. This interactive experience of fruitful intellectual association is further used by the faculty in their sessions with the students.
