College of Engineering Pune is an autonomous institute affiliated to the University of Pune, Maharashtra. Established in 1854, it is the third oldest engineering college in Asia. COEP, a recognized Centre of Excellence, is also a hub of various curricular, extracurricular and technical activities which has earned immense praise from various colleges and industries in India.
COEP nurtures all types of interests and talents and students have done wonders in various fields. There are more than 40 clubs in COEP ranging from non-technical clubs like the debate clubs and drama to Robotics and Formula Student teams like ours. All these clubs have achieved excellence at their respective events and have made COEP proud at national & international events. The recent launch of SWAYAM, COEP’s own student made satellite was a milestone achieved. And there are many more to come...

“COEP has remained vibrant throughout the year with a mélange of events, new milestones set, students creating ‘records with history’ and winning accolades, while scholarly recognitions thrive. There is no place for complacency in our functions. We have a vision not just for our institute, but for the nation and the students are moving on carrying ahead the same legacy.
We want students to graduate from our institute and give back to society. Our aim is to provide them with all necessary infrastructure and knowledge to ‘ignite’ these young minds and each small step in that direction matters to us.
Team Octane Racing of COEP is participating in the Formula Student events since 2011, making remarkable progress year after year. Each year, the students come up with their own new innovative solutions. The entire vehicle is designed and manufactured in the campus under the able guidance of the faculty advisors. The success of Octane Racing is truly an amazing story of how team work and synchronisation can be best nurtured at COEP.
We also owe the success to our industry partners for who have constantly supported and motivated the students with their mentorship, networking and sponsorships provided from time to time. The achievements of Octane Racing would have remained just dreams without the support of the industries. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” and I am proud to say that the students of COEP have been and will always remain pioneers in bringing the change, whether in the field of technology, education, research or administration. You name it and we have our students there setting up new milestones.
