We are Octane Racing; a team of 30 automobile enthusiasts representing College Of Engineering Pune in Formula Student events. During these events, teams from various colleges are evaluated on the basis of their car, the speed, stability, manageability as well as the efficient use of monetary investment, which in turn demands undivided attention and a strong desire to win.

The performance of the car mainly depends on the way we design it and the level of precision we bring into manufacturing it. We prefer to design our own components, which opens up a wide range of parameters which we can control and enhance. From the chassis to the wheel upright, and from the intake to the exhaust, 90% of the components are designed by us.
The design phase requires months of modelling and continuous calculations, iterations and simulations which cumulate into a fully optimized and ready to manufacture product.

The biggest challenge for a season is bringing our design into reality. Manufacturing all components within the deadlines needs proper management of time & workforce. We need days & nights of hard work along with extensive knowledge of advance manufacturing techniques and engineering practices to get the car on wheels.

However, this does not mean that we keep it to ourselves. We always believe in giving back to the student community. Every year we conduct different workshops in collaboration with prestigious institutions like IGTR to share our knowledge. We also display our vehicle at various automotive events to spread the word about the Formula Student community in India.
