- Nikunj Sampat, a final year Civil Engineering student wins the third prize of the Tejogami Innovation Award 2011, organised by Excellence Group for his buiness idea called 'Illucrete - the glowing cement'

- Ms. Neha Kalekar, a final year Information Technology Engineering student at COEP, wins the prestigious Google India Women in Engineering Award 2010
Previous Years
- A team from B.Tech. IT consisting of Shaizeen Aga, Swati Gour and Akshay Galande wins the first prize of USD 5,000 (Rs 2,37,249) for their project on parallel computing (Biollel) at the Imagine cup Egypt'09 organised by Microsoft Corp; more than 3 lakh students from 100 countries had registered to be part of the Imagine Cup 2009
- Institute holds Guinness book world record in: Skipping on a single rope by 292 students (2007) and Longest Painting (600 m) (2008)
- Rohit Pandharkar, a student of Third Year E & TC wins the IET UK Award Present Around The World (PATW) 2007 competition (2nd Place) held in Amsterdam
- First-ever BAJA-SAE 2007 award for designing, fabricating and running an all terrain four wheeler vehicle was won by COEP students
