COEP teams marks their victory at 'Transform Maharashtra'

'Transform Maharashtra', is an initiative of Govt. of Maharashtra, for youth empowerment, driving social change through participatory governance, among others.

"Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Devendra Fadnavis had launched this initiative in December 2016 which proved to be one of the biggest platform for youth to create a road-map of developed Maharashtra by 2025", The initiative received about 2,500 entries from 11,500 students. As many as 6 lakh students posted their suggestions online from across 500 colleges from all over Maharashtra.

'Transform Maharashtra’ provided an opportunity to college students in Maharashtra to put their heads together and come up with policy and/or programme level solutions addressing to 11 critical socio-economic challenges such as drought control, smart cities, transportation, rural education and more. being faced by the State at present. These solutions had to be implementable by the Government.

Four Teams from COEP had participated in the competition and we are glad to share with you all that following three teams have emerged winners in the competition.

1. Team REVOLUTION led by Mr. Nihal Sakhare, other team members: Shraddha Sule, Omkar Todkar, Swapnil Labde, Akshay Chirmade (all the students of T. Y. Planning) won First prize of Rs. 1Lakh for their Project , “Budget Decoded App under category Urban Governance”. Ms. Shruti Vaishampayan was the mentor for the team.

2. Team EARTHIANS led by Ms. Pranjal Kothawade, other team members: Dhanshree Jadhav, Utkarsh Baviskar, Sayale Agade, Aniket Kendre (all the students of T. Y. Planning won First prize of Rs. 1Lakh for their Project, “Integration of Transport System under category connecting dots: Mobility”. Mr. Rahul Shukla was the mentor for the team.

3. Mr. Yuvraj Jadhav, student of M. Tech Automotive Technology won the Second Prize of Rs. 60 Thousand for his project under the category- Rural Education refinements. Dr. M. P. Khond was the mentor .

All the students were awarded the prize at the hands of Honble Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of eminiet industrialist Mr. Ratan Tata, actor Mr. Akshay Kumar during the a programme organized at Mumbai for celebrating the 57th Maharashtra Day on 1st May 2017.
