Quenching the thirst for knowledge of the COEPians from Computer Engineering and Information Technology branches, IBM organised a workshop in our college regarding Database Management Systems and DB2. The workshop was held from 19th to 21st October, 2012.
The intention of the workshop was to compliment learning of the students as well as encourage students participating in The Great Mind Challenge competition organised by IBM. The lively and interactive workshop, conducted by Vaibhav Bedarkar, a knowledgeable and learned orator, satisfied the doubts raised by the students and a varied range of topics, ranging from SQL (Structured Query Language) to DB2 were covered.
General concepts like Application Development and XML (eXtended Markup Language) were focused on and subjects like security, authentication and authorization with regards to DB2 were taken up for discussion. General Database concepts like Entity-Relationship diagrams were revised.
Prof. Khadse, Prof, Suraj Sawant, Prof. Amit Joshi, Prof. Mrs. Tanuja Pattanshetty and Prof. Mrs. Soma Ghosh also attended the course and helped the students. The workshop earned a total of about 50 students for the complete course duration.
