COEP च्या स्पंदन ह्या मंडळातर्फे विसर्जन मिरवणुकीत पर्यावरण जनजागृतीचे काम करण्यात आले . इतर मुले मिरवणुकीत नाचत असताना डी जे च्या तालावर थिरकत असताना अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयातील काही विद्यार्थ्यांचा ग्रुप विसर्जन मिरवणुकीत जनजागृतीचे काम करत होता . प्रत्येकाच्या चेहऱ्यावर वेगळाच आनंद विलसत होता.
स्पंदन ह्या COEP तील ग्रुप तर्फे ह्या आगळ्या वेगळ्या कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. डेक्कन येथील घाटावर हा काही मुलांचा चमू विसर्जनासाठी आलेल्या माणसांना प्रदूषण आणि इको फ्रेंडली गणपती यांचे महत्त्व समजावून सांगत होता. तसेच त्यांना गणपती महानगरपालिकेने दिलेल्या हौदात करण्यास प्रोत्साहन देत होता. काही मंडळी यास विरोध दर्शवत होती. पण त्यांना समजावून सागण्याचा जीवापाड प्रयत्न हि मुले करत होती. ह्या मुलांचे यश हौदावरील गर्दी सांगत होती.
अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयाच्या गणपती विसर्जनानातर हि मुले आनंदाने परतली. सदर कार्यक्रमात महाविद्यालयाच्या माजी विद्यार्थ्यांची उपस्थिती लक्षणीय होती. आपल्या कामात वेळ काढून ह्या विधायक कार्यात त्यांनी मनापासून सहभाग घेतला. पुढील वर्षीही अश्याच रीतीने काम करू असे मत प्रशांत गंगावणे याने मांडले. प्रथम वर्षातील विद्यार्थ्यांनीही हा खूपच आगळा वेगळा कार्यक्रम होता असे सांगितले.
