COEP ZEST’13 begets Sporting prowess

Verve, virtuosity and victories, personified COEP’s annual istanbul travestileri sports festival, Zest’13. Over the last few days the city has witnessed a sporting sensation, meticulously organized and conducted by the istanbul travesti students of COEP. Having surpassed a decade of sporting excellencies, this brainchild has evolved exceptional sports persons this year to cater to its theme “Target Rio.”

                                        

Since its onset on 20th January, with the torch bearing ceremony, Zest has brought about myriad moments of magnificence. The fest was also graced by the presence of Gulabrao Pol, Pune Police Commissioner, Ikram Khan, eminent hockey player and many more from 24th to 27th January. With over 8500 participants featuring in 27 events the festival was brimmed with dynamic competency and anticipation. Zest’13 also marked a noteworthy participation of over 1000 female participants, redefining the nation’s sports scenario.

                                        

After the sporting highs of the last weekend, wherein each day brought along bigger endeavors, the final day of Zest manifested a splendid valedictory ceremony to felicitate its winners. The defending champions MIT fell short of 616 points to retain its title, whereas COEP with 1151 points bore the palm. Cummins was the second runner’s up with 471 points followed by Modern and VIT with 310 & 222 points respectively.

                                        

Zest’13 has witnessed an enormous footfall of about 20000 people during its span of four days. This time it had stretched further and across 11 states to spread its vehemence. With all the flair, novelty, mettle and ebullience, Zest’13 has certainly lived up to its credentials of fostering young sports persons to pioneer a glorious sporting culture.
